• Senior Accountant, Bangladesh
• ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for the USAID-funded Feed the Future Rice and Diversified Crops Activity (RDC) Activity. The project will be a five-year primary mechanism to support productivity and market systems development under USAID/Bangladesh’s FTF strategy, with the objective of improved food security through systemic changes that increase rural incomes and – via increased incomes, including women’s income, and incentivized crop diversification – to improved nutrition. USAID/Bangladesh’s new Rice and Diversified Crops Activity (RDC) activity will foster growth and reduce poverty through improving the competitiveness, inclusiveness, and resilience of rice and other selected crops in the FTF Zone of Influence (ZOI) to the benefit of large numbers of men and women and their families in rural households, farms, and market systems.
• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains accounting systems, policies and procedures, financial controls, accounting standards and records. Maintains up-to date books of accounts for the project.
• Establishes proper accounting and internal controls.
• Prepares the monthly financial reports. Performs quarterly re-forecasts of budgets based on actual expenditures to date and program priorities.
• Performs all reconciliations.
• Ensures that all payments are correct, timely, allowable, allocable and in compliance with USG, local government, donor, and ACDI/VOCA regulations.
• Prepares the payroll. Calculates, withholds, records, and submits payment for all applicable income taxes and other social payments.
• Ensures the program meets its legally required reporting, tax, social security and other financial obligations. Prepares regular VAT claims for submission to the donor.
• Oversees grantee financial compliance, budget tracking and financial projections. Travels to sub-recipient offices as needed to inspect records, accounting systems and fund use and provide training or direction as needed.
• Analyzes and controls daily costs and cash flow. Advises on cash and advance needs, ensuring adequate funds are available at all time.
• Manages the work of assigned staff.
• Collaborates with external auditors to facilitate planned financial audits. Responds promptly to audit requests by HQ.

Educational Requirements
Degree in accounting from an accredited institution. ACCA, ICSA, CIMA, CPA or other recognized professional qualification preferred.
Experience Requirements
• At least 7 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in financial management working for an international NGO and US-funded projects.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of USAID and host government regulations, source and nationality waivers, and GAAP. Exposure to and knowledge of tracking of multi-year, multi-million dollar USAID program budgets.
• Strong analytical, organizational, research, and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively with persons on all levels both inside and outside the company on issues that could be complex or sensitive in nature.
• Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, QuickBooks and other relevant computer applications.
• Proven discretion and professionalism.
• Ability to work with minimal guidance and manage priorities and work flow.
• Ability to manage and supervise staff.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Fluency in English, both written and oral.
• Fluency in Bangla.
