Job Description / Responsibility
German Red Cross Dhaka Office of the International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is searching for an experienced ‘Driver’ (male/female) for their new project. The Driver will be based in Dhaka and duration is 12 months with possible extension starting from as soon as possible.
Person Specification: The Driver is responsible for carry out duties in accordance with the IFRC Fleet Manual and GRC Drivers Rules and Regulation and specific duties assigned by the GRC Dhaka Office. She/he will coordinate with all staff of project as well with other Drivers. She/he will assure the highest standards of service and accountability, thus contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of the vehicles under the overall supervision of HoO.
Specific duties and responsibilities:……..
To transport passengers and cargo safely as instructed
Ensure that all occupants (including driver)of the vehicle are wearing safety belt
Accountable for the proper use of and security IFRC/GRC vehicle and equipment assigned to the vehicles
Perform of daily inspection according to the standard form of the inspection of vehicles
Understand and obey all traffic laws and regulations
Compliance with working hours regulated. Work in accordance with the operational needs.
Make sure that all the necessary documents are renewed when necessary
Take initiative and advise supervisor or the assigned officer of needed service and maintenance of the assigned vehicles.

Educational Requirements
Preferable of SSC but class eight pass is essential

Experience Requirements
At least 10 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements
At least 10 years experience in driving
Experience in working with multi cultural environment
Experience in working with Foreigner
Experience in solving minor vehicle maintenance problem
Experience in security management
Able to understand and speak English and Bangla
Able to filled in the vehicle log book
Knowledge about the different route of Dhaka City
Knowledge of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement
Ability to work independently on own initiative and also to contribute as part o
Willingness and ability to learn, flexibility and adaptability
Ability to get on well with a wide variety of people
Excellent team player and gender sensitive
Integrity and high standards of personal conduct
