Job Description / Responsibility
• The HFG Bangladesh project is looking for a Program Associate (Technical) to provide programmatic support for research and other technical activities.
• The candidate will provide key research support to the Country Manager, Activity Leads, and HFG Bangladesh team, including support in reviewing literature, writing research reports, presentations, policy briefs, and other project deliverables. These will cover topics such as: Universal health coverage, awareness building on UHC, National Health Accounts, Essential Service Packages, costing, and others.
• The candidate will support client and partner activities (meetings, conference calls, trainings and others) by helping with logistics, taking notes, and drafting summaries of meetings and other activities.
• The candidate will liaise with different stakeholders including Government (MOHFW, MOF, etc), Developing Partners and Implementing Partners.
• The candidate will document key activities and assist in writing quarterly and annual reports.
• The candidate will follow and update the team on current issues, news on health and development sector of Bangladesh.
• Other activities as they arise.
• Timing: It is expected that the Program Associate will carry out this work over the period March to September 2016 (on a contract basis), with a possibility of extension or conversion to staff position.

Educational Requirements
• The ideal candidate will have an outstanding academic record in public health, health economics, health financing, health policy, or other relevant academic discipline.
• Minimum Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in public health, health economics, health policy, or related field and at least three years of work experience.
• English language fluency required.

Additional Job Requirements
• Excellent oral and written communication in English and analytical skills are essential.
• Experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Pro-active approach to research tasks
• Research an program experience, especially in the fields of public health, health financing and universal healthcare
• Proficiency using database software, such as Access.
• Proficiency using a reference program like EndNote or RefWorks are a plus
• Beneficial: Proficiency using statistical software packages, such as STATA or SAS
• Strong academic record required
