Job Context
• Department : Dhaka Earthquake and Emergency Preparedness (DEEP) Project under Disaster Risk Management(DRM) Department
• Reportable to : Senior Project Officer /Technical Officer
• Contract length : 01 year (with possibility of extension)
Job Description / Responsibility
• Co-responsible for the implementation of DEEP project activities at wards / school level in line with defined action plan and in very close coordination with BDRCS South Dhaka Unit
• Organizing and participating in base line and end line surveys
• Organizing workshops, meetings / sessions, trainings, rallies, awareness raising and competitions etc. at ward/school level
• Organizing drills and simulations at zone and ward level
• Work with WDMC and other relevant stakeholders, like the FSCD, for defined project activities and to ensure a linkage between different stakeholders of the project
• Ensure women’s full and effective participation in project activities
• Supervise and provide necessary support to volunteers
• Participate in project related meetings/trainings/workshop
• Collaborate with other partners of the project (IFRC, ARC, ACF, CA)
• Provide regular updates and write regular reports
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the authority
• Work towards the achievement of BDRCS / GRC goals in Bangladesh, operating through effective coordination and lateral relations and teamwork
• To abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross / Red Crescent principles and values
• To ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relations and accountabilities
• To maintain efficiency and harmony in working environment among employees, partners and managers

Minimum Graduate preferably in social work, development studies, disaster management or relevant discipline

Job Requirements
• Age At most 40 year(s)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in related field or 5 years RC/RC volunteers
• Experiences working within RC/RC movement is preferred
• Experience in working in Dhaka City
• Experiences in emergency preparedness, contingency planning, emergency response
• Fluent in English and Bangla
• Skilled in using computers, specially MS office: excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook
• Strong organizing, training, and communication skills
• Ability to motivate and to lead staff / volunteers by example
• Valid driving license for motorcycle is preferred
• Adhere to the 7 fundamental principles of Red Cross and Red Crescent movement
• Act at all times in accordance with the Code of Conduct
• Sound interpersonal and organizational skill
• Ability to work independently, proactively and to contribute as part of a team
• High level of attention to details in all respect of work responsibilities
