Field Coordination Manager – Save the Children

The role

We are currently looking for Field Coordination Manager to be based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Role Purpose

The Field Coordination Manager is responsible for ensuring quality, integration and accountability of needs based programming in an area of operation. He / She will be expected to lead on all community mobilisation activities and gain a strong insight into the vulnerabilities, strengths and dynamics of the community. In doing so, they will be able to maximise inclusion, cultural and gender sensitivity of Save the Children’s operations and ensure the flexibility and agility to respond to high vulnerability and emergency needs. By having visibility of all work by both Save the Children and other actors, they will be in a position to coordinate activities at the field level through the sectoral line management to maximise the impact we have for children

Qualifications and experience

Essential

Significant management experience working in an emergency response contexts or fragile states
Previous first phase emergency response experience is essential
Significant field experience and/or education to MSc/MA/MEng level in a relevant subject
Previous experience of managing a team
Previous experience of project management, including multi sector programmes
Security management experience in insecure environments
Field level representation with key stakeholders and co-ordination with other NGOs/UN
Demonstrable experience of MEAL and significant experience in beneficiary accountability and community participation.
Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
Excellent communication skills
Strong influencing skills and experience in advocacy
Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
A high level of written and spoken English
The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
Commitment to the aims and principles of SC. In particular, a good understanding of the SC mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support

Previous experience working with Rohingya communities
Relevant language skills
Multi-site management experience
National level representation with key stakeholders and co-ordination with other NGOs/UN
Media trained
Contract length: 6 months with possibility of extension
