Job Description / Responsibility
• Directs, manages and implements activities related to forecasting, production planning, purchasing and warehouse & logistics for the factory
• Reviews in-house production plans to ensure plans support manufacturing capacities and scheduling requirements, interfacing with appropriate site support functions
• Leads staff in identifying and (in conjunction with the quality group) qualifying vendors for the raw materials necessary to produce quality product at the manufacturing facilities within desired delivery time frames. Initiates corrective actions in the event of quality and/or delivery issues with said suppliers. Negotiates equitable pricing schedules with vendors for the materials and aids in keeping the facility within material variance costs.
• Communicate with various departments and act as bridge between product development, production, procurement, warehouse and merchandising.
• Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and overall team to optimize a value of the entire function in creating a world-class materials management group.
• Be responsible for Sourcing, negotiating and procuring of goods, materials and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements;
• Negotiate and manage contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from the Vendors;
• Ensure implementation of purchasing policies/practices, processes and procedures resulting in economic savings and increased service;
• Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of required products and materials;

B.Sc. in Leather/ Footwear/ Leather Products Engineering/ Engineering in any discipline may be relaxed for highly qualified and experienced candidates.
