Job Description / Responsibility
• Handicap International implementing a four year project entitled “Growing Together” with the objective to engage children in promoting disability inclusion and a culture of safety through creative ways and build capacities of childcare service providers to be more responsive of their specific needs. The project will provide quality skills training and awareness to parents/caregivers of vulnerable children, local service providers, INGOs, Community-Based Organizations and Camp Committees in order to children with disabilities and vulnerable children`s lives opportunities and to foster social links and cohesion among communities in a sustainable and resilient way.
• Overall Objective Of The Job:
• Inclusion Officer will ensure inclusion services to the children with disabilities and other most vulnerable children by mobilization of local resources and institutions and follow HI approaches on disability issues, build up capacity of volunteers, parents, care givers etc
• Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in baseline study along with Disability Officer for identification of children with disabilities through house to house survey and assess sport, leisure activities and education opportunities and challenges of beneficiaries in the target areas;
• Prepare training module, support parents & caregivers to develop early learning toys and material with local material & tutorials, provide support parents, care givers; provide training child care center, Volunteers and school teachers on inclusive sport and education;
• In collaboration with Accessibility Manager, Disability Officer creation of inclusive playgrounds from local kits and tutorials, Toy Lending Libraries and complementary learning facilities;
• Monitor project activities, check quality implementation and follow-up children files on need assessment for inclusive education and sports;
• Follow up of services with the beneficiaries home, schools and playground by regular and frequent support visits;
• Capacity building and support community volunteers/ child care centre/clubs in organizing regular inclusive sport and leisure activities including including sport, art, awareness-raising and cultural events for all;
• Build network with concern stakeholders i.e. upazila education department, upazila sports association, upazila social service department, schools, training institutes, camp management committees and Camp In Charge, other NGOs working in the relevant field;
• Respect HI technical policies, methods and approaches in order to ensure quality during project implementation;
• Ensure roll out of the PSEA (Protection of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse) and Child Protection Policy of Handicap International across the project area;
• Keep smooth communication with Technical Advisor-HI for any technical issue;
• Prepare monthly report, event report and monitoring mission report;
• Any other tasks requested by the line manager.
• POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION CHART: Under supervision of Project Manager, with a strong functional link with the technical unit .

Additional Job Requirements
• At least 2 years field level work experience in sports or education/ working with children
• Proven ability to advise on disability/vulnerability issues is desirable
• Experience in humanitarian context, preferably in the field of rehabilitation is preferable;
• Experience of working in remote community setting is an advantage
• Have capacity to maintain close relationships with partners, stakeholders and clients
• Strong team work approach
• Knowledge of disability and development issues in Bangladesh
• Experience in organising sport events and skills in co-curricular activities will be an advantage

• Good communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla and English
• Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural team environment
