Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of Emergency Officer at Field Services Section, the intern will be responsible for:
• Conducting research on disaster management system, Climate change, Disaster Risk Reduction, Rohingyas issues in Bangladesh, etc.
• Preparing/attending conferences, and inter-agency meeting – this may involve drafting of minutes and reports as well as follow-up
• Assisting in organizing Emergency Preparedness and Response Training (EPRT) for both government officials and UNICEF field staffs
• Contributing to reporting
Qualification
We are looking for candidates who meet the following mandatory requirements:
1) be enrolled in a degree programme in a undergraduate or graduate school. (Undergraduate student who completed at least 2 years of full time studies at a university (or equivalent) towards the completion of an undergraduate degree is eligible to apply for internship at UNICEF).
2) be proficient in English
3) have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records; and additional consideration will be given for any past work experience.
Successful candidates will also meet the following criteria:
1) A manifest interest for humanitarian action/issue and UNICEF
2) The ability to think strategically, to express idea clearly, both orally and in writing, and to work independently and as part of a team
3) Capacity for research and analytical writing
4) Flexibility and the ability to assist with a variety of task based on the needs of the section
