Manager – Human Resources – Save the Children

Job Context
• Save the Children invites applications for the following position under an urgent response program to recent Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh. We are working in different locations in Cox`s Bazar, providing vital services to displaced Rohingya peoples, including distributing the food, shelter, water & sanitation, education, health, nutrition, and child protection needs of the Rohingya refugees, particularly of the children.
• Qualified women are strongly encouraged to apply. Minimum requirements will be flexible for the potential female candidates. We are hiring staff on urgent basis, please apply if you can start your work in 48 hours notice time.
• Job nature: Contractual for 6 months, with possibility of further extension

Job Description / Responsibility
• Responsibilities: The Manager-Human Resources will be mainly responsible for managing and leading human resources activities in Cox’s Bazar, such as recruitment, new staff orientation, training, employee relations, staff wellness, performance management, database management, compliance, disciplinary and grievance issues, etc.
• The incumbent will manage and facilitate the local level recruitment for hiring staff & volunteers
• S/he will provide inputs on job descriptions, preparing job advertisement, short listing, setting up interviews and facilitate the interview process
• Provide support and guidance to the program staff related to HR and it’s functionality
• Prepare and update Cox’s Bazar based Employee database and maintain their personal files.
• Lead and facilitate the joining formalities and ensure their orientation, along with other ongoing trainings
• Maintain leave records of employees, ensure their time sheet are submitted within the time frame
• Facilitate Performance Appraisal process and ensure proper documentation
• Work with Dhaka office HR team and handle disciplinary issues
• Facilitate the exit process of separated staff(s)
• Ensure compliance according to the SC standard policy and procedure
• Coordinate with central HR team for smooth operations of HR functions in Cox’s Bazar office

Educational Requirements
Master Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or in any relevant discipline.

Experience Requirements
• 5 to 6 year(s)

Job Requirements
• At least 5-6 years of working experience in HR, including 3 years in management position.
• S/he is expected to have hands-on experience in dealing with recruitment process, orientation, training, performance management, grievance handle, preferably within I/NGOs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skill in Bangla & English ability to work under pressure with tight deadline, excellent skills on priority setting and ability to deal with multiple tasks.
• Good understanding on employment laws, willingness to travel to the remote field locations.
