Principal Coordination and Management Specialist – BRAC Institute of Governance and Development

Job Description / Responsibility
• Broad Responsibilities of the position:
• This position will be a senior member of BIGD’s management, and will support the Executive Director in the overall management of the Institute. This will require undertaking a wide range of responsibilities in the areas of training and academic and research programmes, in addition to oversight over administration, finance and human resources management. The position thus has a broad span of responsibility and multitasking skills will be critical.
• Terms of Reference of the Position shall include but not be limited to:
• Under the direct guidance of the Executive Director, the incumbent will help the preparation and management of training courses, management of research programmes and academic programmes of the institute.
• Overall specialized technical, managerial and administrative support to the BIGD’s performance and financial management for ensuring the delivery of planned and committed outputs and outcomes, efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain close liaison with relevant ministries, donors, district administrations and partner organizations for smooth implementation of BIGD’s activities.
• Support the BIGD to consolidate its accomplishments in all areas of its work and support the achievement of its strategic goals and objectives. In particular,
• Support the organisational restructuring and systems development needed to manage a growing programme, monitoring deliverables and building a cohesive team across research clusters and teams.
• Participate in BIGD’s external organisational activities as appropriate.
• Ensure that relevant information is communicated laterally and vertically and externally as appropriate.
• Support the institutionalisation of relationships with member, partner and partner organisations of BIGD’s constituency.
• Provide technical inputs to BIGD’s integrated programme planning and other thematic work, eg, preparation of course modules, course implementation and monitoring, workshops, publications and papers, briefs, etc.
• Support, supervise and organize consultations, workshops, professional training courses, short term academic courses and UGC-affiliated courses under a university.
• Work closely with international/national consultants, and coordinate and guide the BIGD team to conduct and implement training and academic courses so as to achieve institutional objectives.
• Undertake specific responsibilities in the areas of administration, management and coordination of the BIGD’s diverse activities, support the BIGD team in professional, administrative, finance, personnel and logistics arrangements to establish internal control system and better work environment to optimise the productivity of the team.
• Assist the Executive Director in briefing experts, consultants, new staff and other stake holders and relevant participants about procedures, policies, strategy and objectives and values of BIGD.
• Any other task that may be assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.

A post-graduate degree in a social or physical science discipline.

At least 17 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements
The candidate must have a minimum of 17 years of work experience in administration, managing research, academic and training programmes in a national or international setting. Strong administrative, financial planning, human resource management, organizational strategy, planning and implementation skills and experience will be highly valued. Excellent Bangla and English writing skills are a necessary requirement. Female candidates and those from ethnic communities are encouraged to apply.
