Grade: G-6 (UN Salary Scale) Type of Appointment: Special Short Term (09 months with possibility of extension)
General Functions:
Under supervision of National Programme Officer (Migration Health) and overall supervision of the head of sub-office Sylhet and Migration Health Officer and overall guidance of the Chief of Mission of IOM Dhaka, the incumbent will be responsible for local level coordination and management of the project “Promoting comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights for internal migrants and internally displaced populations living in 756 urban slums in Sylhet City of Bangladesh”.
The incumbent will be assigned to inter alia, the following tasks:
Plan, manage and coordinate implementation of the project on promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) care services for the internal migrants and displaced populations living in slums in Sylhet City Corporation.
Liaise and build collaboration with the health authorities at Sylhet City Corporation and other similar projects and local stakeholders for effective and smooth operation of the project of IOM.
Organize advocacy and coordination meetings with government authorities and other relevant stakeholders at local level.
Conduct the needs assessment of the clinics of Sylhet City Corporation running under the Urban Primary Health Care project for identifying logistic, medical and technical requirements to upgrade the centres for comprehensive SRH service provision.
Organize and conduct training programmes for selected doctors, nurses and other health care providers involved in SRH service delivery in Sylhet City area.
Supervise and monitor the field activities like satellite clinics, community awareness programmes implemented by local partner NGO under the project.
Involve directly in community mobilization, various meetings and youth club based information dissemination in relation to promoting SRHR in the target populations.
Establish and maintain referral mechanism for comprehensive reproductive health services for the intended populations.
Provide technical support in incorporating SRH data in MIS for the City Corporation health authorities.
Train and supervise staff working for the project, and maintain appropriate staffing level to ensure smooth project implementation
Take part in staff capacity building activities through provision of training and other activities.
Develop and supervise the maintenance of the project database, analysis of data and production of reports.
Develop training module, curriculum, IEC materials on SRH issues as and when required.
Take part in the overall programme evaluation and recommendation for necessary changes in strategies and approaches.
Doing research for further scope of cooperation and partnership and assist the National Programme Officer and the Migration Health Officer in developing other migration health programmes.
Any other duties as may be assigned by t the supervisors.

Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH)/Population Science/Health Economics and other related subjects
Experience Requirements
At least 5 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
At least Five (05) years’ experience in public health project implementation
Work experience in the area of sexual and reproductive health is an advantage
Work experience with international organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Sound Computer knowledge
Excellent drafting and communication skills in Bangla and English is essential
