Job Description / Responsibility
The Senior Capacity Building Officer is responsible for ensuing overall adherence to VET and apprenticeship Capacity Building policies and strategies decided at senior management level, across all areas of implementation of the education intervention and reports to Field Team Leader. This will especially contain the Capacity Building, coaching and guidance of artisans who will offer apprenticeship positions to VET students.
Support team of CB officers to find artisans among private sector actors who can be apprenticeship masters and assess the capacity development needs of the master craftsmen/ artisans and possibly also VET centre faculty members/teaching staff
Where appropriate provide information on artisan or apprenticeship to Senior Content Expert and ensure effective communication with all staff to maintain ethical and transparent working relationship
Provide feedback from the field and contribute to the development of a training plan for VET center in guiding and monitoring apprenticeships
Guide and develop private sector actors into artisans by training and coaching. Work closely with district level CB officers and implement apprenticeship,
Organize TOT program to ensure VET faculty members are equipped to organize apprenticeships and use innovative tools and technologies to monitor their trainees.
Set clear objectives and indicators for monitoring and assessing the apprenticeship in close cooperation with the SR Content Officer who is responsible for the curriculum.
Continuously monitor and supervise apprenticeship and training activities, and involve and guide District CB officers in analysis and taking appropriate action as needed to ensure continued progress
Conduct periodic assessment of artisans/master craft person effectiveness and provide feedback to upper management for action, if and when appropriate.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to PROOFS project management, donor and other applicable time frames and formats.
Regularly advice on updating, modifying and/or providing refresher training based on field evaluation of training effectiveness and assessment of training toolkit.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrate respect for others
Work cross-functionally with other work groups to ensure optimal project impact is derived

Minimum 7 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
Minimum 7 (seven) years of relevant experience, preferably in an INGO
Experience in vocational Education
Well developed administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and control own workload
Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing to a small team, including the capacity to review and improve workplace practices
Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote and uphold CB initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential
Ability to contribute towards the development and implementation of CB programs and initiatives to meet the needs of the intervention
Self-motivated, energetic team player
Good communication skills in English
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to adapt and work with all genders, religions, nationalities and ages
