Job Description / Responsibility
• The Position: The Urban Crisis Learning Coordinator is a project based position ending on October 31, 2017.
• Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Shape related local level objectives coherent with the global project objectives, in coordination with the Urban Crises Learning Manager of Habitat Great Britain and consortium members.
• Work closely with other partner organization to develop the methodology, and conduct/implement activities for data collection and analysis.
• Monitor, analyses, collate and consolidate documented evidence from project partners and other stakeholders, documenting these with quality, relevance and rigor.
• Contribute to the design of the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework and the method for the collection of learning.
• Ensure the regular and timely technical input; meeting deadlines in accordance with the work plan.
• Identify or arrange local events, initiatives, forums and other opportunities to collect and share learning, including advocacy, research or coordination initiatives where appropriate.
• Support the Urban Crises Learning Manager and consortium partners with input to the Sphere Project team as necessary.
• Write project materials regularly for publication locally and globally as necessary.
• Ensure timely submission of project outputs and deliverables based on the format required.
• Represent, communicate and coordinate on behalf of the consortium with external stakeholders, municipal, government authorities and forums in Bangladesh.
• Provide inputs to regular consortium meetings as necessary.
• Manage local communications between Habitat Bangladesh, Oxfam Bangladesh, other partners and stakeholders.
• Liaise frequently and regularly with the Urban Crises Learning Manager concerning project development, identification of and engagement with key stakeholders, documenting of evidence and the organization of events
• In coordination with Oxfam Bangladesh, organize and provide facilitation at a mid – project learning event and an end of project learning event, including local urban stakeholders in order to create a forum for the generation and sharing and gathering of learning.
• Arrange personal travel to attend forums, meetings and to field locations as necessary.
• Host the Urban Crises Learning Manager of Habitat Great Britain and other Urban Technical Adviser during their visits to the field, including key introductions, arranging accommodation and travel.
• Monitor, anticipate and coordinate budget variations working closely with the Habitat Great Britain Program Team and provide regular narrative and financial reports
• Contribute to further fundraising for the project where opportunities arise.

Educational Requirements
The ideal person should have Masters in Social Science in any discipline preferably in urban development/disaster management.
Experience Requirements
3 to 4 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
• 3-4 years of working experience in research works preferably in urban disaster preparedness and its management with a development organization.
• Any relevant training/research experience is preferable. The ideal person should have sound knowledge and skill on MS office application.
• Strong interpersonal skill
• Organized and capable of handling multiple tasks .Good communication skills in both English & Bengali • Maintain a high moral with integrity and honesty
• Self-motivated to work independently and detail oriented.
• Experience of projects involving several partner organization
• Knowledge of humanitarian response and management, urban design and development.
• Ability to travel nationally and internationally where appropriate for the project several times per year.
